  • Trim the Wick: Always trim the wooden wick to approximately 3/16 inch (5 mm) before each burn. This ensures a clean and even burn, preventing excessive flame and soot.
  • Find the Perfect Spot: Place your candle on a stable, heat-resistant surface away from drafts, vents, and anything flammable like curtains or books.

While Your Candle is Burning

  • First Burn Matters: Let the candle burn long enough for the wax to melt across the entire surface (about 3-4 hours) to prevent tunneling and create an even burn for future uses.
  • Keep it Clean: Ensure the wax pool is free of wick trimmings, matches, or any other debris. This keeps the candle burning evenly and prevents flare-ups.
  • Never Leave Unattended: Always remain in the room while your candle is burning. Extinguish all candles before leaving the room or going to bed.
  • Mind the Burn Time: For the best results, burn your candle for no more than 4 hours at a time. This helps maintain the quality of the candle and prevents the container from overheating.

Extinguishing Your Candle

  • Use a Snuffer: Extinguish your candle with a snuffer or by gently dipping the wick into the melted wax, then straightening it. This method reduces smoke and prevents splattering.
  • Let it Cool: Allow the candle to cool completely before relighting, trimming the wick, or moving it.

Candle Safety Essentials

  • Keep Away from Children and Pets: Ensure candles are placed out of reach of little hands and paws to avoid accidents.
  • Avoid Flammable Items: Always keep burning candles away from flammable materials, including walls, shelves, and paper products.
